Federal Business Opportunities (FedBizOpps): The Federal Business Opportunities lists notices of proposed government procurement actions, contract awards, sales of government property, and other procurement information. A new edition of the FedBizOpps is issued every business day.

NAICS - North American Industry Classification System is to replace the Standard Industrial Classification System.

Small Business Size Standards: Size standards define the maximum size that a firm, including all of its affiliates, may be to participate in federal government programs that are reserved for small businesses.

WinS - DFAS Web-Based Invoicing System Enables the current small to medium size current paper-based vendors to send invoices electronically via the Internet with little or no cost.

Defense Link: The official web site for the Department of Defense and the starting point for finding US. military information online.

DOD SBIR/STTR Program: The purpose of DoD's SBIR and STTR programs is to harness the innovative talents of our nation's small technology companies for U.S. military and economic strength. DoD's SBIR program funds early-stage R&D projects at small technology companies -projects which serve a DoD need and have the potential for commercialization in private sector and/or military markets. STTR is similar in structure to SBIR but funds cooperative R&D projects involving a small business and a research institution (i.e., university, federally funded R&D center, or nonprofit research institution).

Government Services Administration: One of the three central management agencies in the Federal Government. (The Office of Personnel Management and the Office of Management and Budget are the others.)

Procurement Technical Assistance (PTA): On the behalf of the Secretary of Defense, the DLA administers the DoD PT A Cooperative Agreement Program under which Procurement Technical Assistance Centers (PT ACs) provide assistance to business firms that want to sell goods and/or services to Federal, State and Local Governments.

PRO-Net: An electric gateway of procurement information - for and about small businesses. A search engine for contracting officers, a marketing tool for small firms and a "link" to procurement opportunities and important information. It is designed to be a "virtual" one-stop-procurement-shop.

DoD Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization Office (SADBU)

Southerneastern Area Small Business Council Under Construction. One of eight regional Small Business Councils, sponsored by the Department of Defense, and dedicated to enhancing utilization of small businesses, small disadvantaged businesses, woman-owned small businesses, Historically Black Colleges and UniversitieslMinority Institutions in the federal agencies.

Defense Technical Information Center: (DTIC) Part of the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA). Offers a wide variety of products and services designed to assist users in obtaining information they need easily and quickly.

Scientific Technical Infonnation Network: The Defense Technical Information Center (DTIC) Scientific and Technical Information Network (STINET) Service helps the DoD community access pertinent scientific and technical information to meet mission needs more effectively.

Small Business Administration (SBA): Established in 1953, the SBA provides financial, technical and management assistance to help Americans start, run and grow their businesses.

Central Contract Registration: (CCR) A single database of basic business information from contractors that want to do business with the Department of Defense. Contractors MUST be registered in CCR in order to do business with the Department of Defense.
